Mission
Statement
The Cochrane
Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre is committed to providing
quality rehabilitation services to Children and their Families in the
Districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming.
Value Statement
The Cochrane
Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre practices Family Centered Care.
- Staff relationships with Families and Children are based on trust.
- Staff and Families both come from diverse backgrounds and hold a multitude of beliefs.
- Mutual

The Cochrane

Mandate
Services are
provided:

In the Districts of
Cochrane and Temiskaming
-
To Children ages
birth to 19 and up to 21 years of age if attending a Ministry of
Education sanctioned program.

There will be no
duplication of community services
-
For children over
the age of 5, a referral will be made to the School Health Support
Services (NECCAC) for school based needs.
Referrals for
Occupational Therapy / Physical Therapy will be accepted if:

The child has a
physical disability and/or Cleft Lip / Palate
-
The child has a
sensory motor based challenge which restricts the child’s ability to
participate in functional daily activities.

The child has a
developmental delay
Referrals for
Speech and Language Services will be accepted if:
-
The child has a
physical disability and/or Cleft Lip/Palate
-
The child has a
sensory motor based challenge which restricts the child’s ability to
participate in functional daily activities.
The child has a “long term”
and “active” involvement with an Occupational Therapist or a
Physical Therapist from either the Centre itself, or from either CCAC
serving the Districts (multi need health)
Long Term - greater than 6 months
Active

The child does not
have a Developmental Delay (CTRC)
Referrals for
Social Work Services will be accepted if the child resides in Timmins and:

Recreation Therapy Services will be accepted if the child resides in the
Districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming

Service Priorities
for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Language
Pathology

Any
child under one (1) year of age.

Any
child under three (3) years of age.

Any
child three (3) – nineteen (19) years of age with a physical
disability and/or a child with
cleft
lip/palate .

Any
child three (3) – six (6) years of age with identified sensory motor
based challenges.

Any
child seven (7) – nineteen (19) years of age with sensory motor
based challenges.

Staff
development services to community agencies will be available within
time constraints.

needing assistance / support when the child is in a critical, acute
condition.

itself is in crisis and is in need of assistance and support.
