A
referral can be received from any source provided the parents
are aware of
the referral.

The referral can
be made by phone, mail or fax.
Processing the Referral
The designated
senior therapist screens the referral in order to ensure the child meets
the Centre’s mandate. If
appropriate, the referral is discussed with the therapy team and the child
is put on the wait list. If
the referral is deemed inappropriate, the senior therapist attempts to
redirect the family to the appropriate agency(ies).
Notification of Acceptance of
the Referral
A letter is sent
to the family acknowledging receipt of the referral and informing them
that the child has been put on the wait list.
The appropriate release of information forms are included in this
package.
