ANCHORSCOMPANY: K & C POWER HOUSE REPAIR
PROJECT: WEST DAM REPAIRS - INSTALLATION OF ROCK ANCHORS
K & C Power House Repair, acting as General Contractor,
and Geotech Contracting Ltd., acting as Subcontractor, were commissioned
to install rock anchors to secure a gravity dam to the bedrock. The rock
anchors were a post-tensioned steel bar, complete with multiple corrosion
protection, anchored by cement grout in a hole drilled through the concrete
piers and 15 feet into the bedrock. The rock anchors were a nominal 1-3/8"
in. diameter. All seven anchors were recessed 24 inches into the existing
concrete. 
Upon
completion, the dam was returned to its pre-project appearance.
