Cloutier's Machine Shop Limited was contracted by Siemens Westinghouse Technical Services to alignment bore the bolt holes between the Generator and Turbine Shafts and the Turbine Shaft and Turbine. Since this unit operates in a vertical orientation, it was requested that the alignment boring be done in a vertical orientation. The coupling bolts were supplied in a rough machined condition of approximately 0.060" oversize. Once the holes were aligned bored then the coupling bolts were finished machined to the hole sizes. A total of twenty-eight (28) holes were aligned bored with the corresponding coupling bolts finished machine.
