Courses:

The Squadron will offer a much more detailed 12 week night course this winter on navigational aids, charting, and other safe boating tips which qualifies graduates as Canadian Power Squadron and TTPSS members. Course registration will be held on Tuesday October 18th, 2005 - 7PM at the Pool Fitness centre, or for more information please call 647-4010.

Our "Women On Water" course was very successful and is planned for 2006 also.

News:

TTPSS Turns 30 & Recognized for CPS Firsts.

The TriTown Power & Sail Squadron’s main mandate is to promote boating safety. This past year TTPSS celebrated its 30th Anniversary of having received its charter from the Canadian Power Squadron, and has over 80 members from both Temiskaming District and Temiscaming Quebec.

The local Squadron was recently recognized by the Canadian Power Squadron for a number of “firsts across Canada” which include:
1) the highest percentage of retained membership
2) the first Squadron to offer a Women on Water Coarse which was held for the past two years in July, and
3) the first squadron to train Courtesy Boat Inspectors under the new Transport Canada regulations.

TTPSS also provided the short, half day course Boat Operators Certification Course this spring for students under 16, which is now mandatory for the operation of all types of watercraft.

TriTown Power & Sail Squadron Assist the Cat Scan Fund.

TriTown Power and Sail Squadron (TTPSS) recently donated $500 to the Cat Scan Fund, which were the proceeds from an auction held at the Power Squadron Annual meeting, on a nautical bench which was hand crafted and donated by Squadron members Gil & Lorraine Loranger. From left to right are Alex Mageau, Treasurer, Bill Ramsay, Commander, Gilbert and Lorraine Loranger, and accepting the donation from the Cat Scan Committee is Laurie Mageau-Wilson, who also coincidently, is a Squadron member.
