In September of 1986 I took a goose hunting trip to Kashechewan in Northern Ontario. I wrote up a small diary of the trip if anyone is insterested. Click here for the .pdf file to open up.

My hunting motto: "If at first you don't succeed - reload!"

Some hunting and fishing photos which show a little slice of my life............

Twice Ken and I went to James Bay on goose hunts. One Canada Goose that I shot overhead fell down at my feet. It is a surprise to feel how heavy the geese actually are. Ken also made a trip to Ungava Bay on a Caribou Hunt in September, 1998. 1999 saw him make 2 trips to Kapuscasing, one deer hunt trip to Bucke's Bay south of Ottawa and then we both spent a wonderful week at Twin Bear Hunt Fish Lodge Resort on the Montreal River.

October 25, 2002 - Valerie and a couple of days of game. Boy the partridge were everywhere. In all of my hunting I have never seen so many partridge all over in the bush.
Ken and partridge - October 25, 2002 - early snow this year!
Good eating for winter cooking - October, 2002
Nice Muskie I caught in Lake Temiskaming, July 2000. When I first caught it I thought it was a pike. But it looked different as you can see the fins and tail are reddish. Then when I cleaned it the flesh was not that slimy, greeny colour as pike are. Then when we ate it we knew - it was a muskie as muskie tastes very much like perch - nice and sweet.
A Bear that was swimming July, 2000 in Lake Temiskaming from the Quebec side to the Ontario side. Since Ontario stopped the Spring Bear Hunt this bear figured he was safe! We followed him for a while in our boat till he climbed the high cliff. That feat took alot of claws!

Just a little bit of silly reverse humour!
Just a joke on my friend at her Hunt Camp!
There are few things in life to compare to a frosty hunt in the bush when in rounding a bend you spot a partridge! My encounters with bears though are another story!!!!! One time, when hunting alone in the bush, I came upon a timber wolf dozing in the sunshine. He stood up, came towards me, stopped, then stared at me and tilted his head in an inquiring manner. He then loped off into the bush. I'll never forget staring into those big grey/blue eyes. The sighting and walking along side of a wild lynx was another wonderful moment. (I am no hero though and carry big shot just in case!!)
