Herbert Sherratt was born in 1898 in Talke Pitts, Audley, Staffordshire, England to Owen Sherratt and Mary Manley.
He had four siblings.
Herbert married Maggie Thacker. They had two children, Owen and Mary.
Herbert brought his family to Canada, first to Fernie, British Columbia and then onto Coleman, Alberta.
In Coleman, Herbert, and partner Bill Gates open the first Red & White Grocery chain store. They sold it in 1946.
Herbert passed away May 27, 1979 in Vernon, British Columbia.
