The original name of the village was Carronbrook and was changed to Dublin on May 1st 1878. Dublin was incorporated eventually into what was known as "a police village". The name Dublin came from the original Irish city of Dublin by Irish settlers. Carronbrook is a stream that flows through the hamlet.
