Below is a listing of some of the people, places and things that
the Kinsmen Club of the Porcupine has been involved with in the past and some
of the things we are involved with now. If you want to help feel free to
contact any Kinsmen from the club or email Brian Coleman (click on Brian's name at bottom).
The Local Community
The Kinsmen Club of the Porcupine raises funds through projects and events during the Kin Year. The majority of these funds is channeled back into the community of South Porcupine (and in some cases Timmins). We support all groups with an emphasis on Youth Oriented Groups, ie., Hockey, Soccer, Ringette, Baseball, South Porcupine Athletics, Scouts, Guides, R.M.S.S. Bursary, and the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, etc.
We assist the more unfortunate within the community with donations to The Food Bank, Stan Fowler Fund, various groups such as Cystic Fibrosis (It is our National Cause), Easter Seals, Salvation Army, Heart & Stroke, Ilietis & Colitis, etc.
The South Porcupine Winter Carnival, Wal-kin-along, Zellers Moonwalk, Santa's Train Ride, Day in the Park (at Porcupine Lake), repairs & upgrades to the Park at Porcupine Lake and the operation of the Concession at the Whitney Arena plus many other events put The Kinsmen Club of the Porcupine proudly in the public view.
We were proud to be part of the Year
2000 Canada Day Celebration in South Porcupine at the Waterfront Park, this
day ending in a spectacular Fireworks display that will outdo the already
Famous Winter Carnival Fireworks Display.
