Virginiatown and Kearns

Museum and Tourist Center

McGarry Tourist Information Center

And McGarry Heritage Home

Formally known as the Larder / McGarry Tourist Information Center And McGarry Heritage House. The Corporation of the Township of Mcgarry purchased Larder Lake's share of the building from the township of Larder Lake. This purchase allowed the town of Larder Lake to build their own tourism center and increased the costs to mcgarry residents by increased taxes, maintaince, heat and employees. When constructed part of the building was built on another property.

The McGarry Tourist Centre housed in a magnificent model of a logged home, serves the communities of Virginiatown and Kearns, (commonly called V-Town). Previously known as the Larder - McGarry. The Tourist Center Is quite unique in that it serves both as a Tourist Centre and Virginiatown Heritage House. On the outside of the centre are several items of interest. One of them is an impressive 3 metre high replica of the first Gold Coin ever minted in Canada (see below)
