The communities of Virginiatown and Kearns is located in the Corporation of the Township of McGarry. Kearns and Virginiatown is located about 260km from North Bay, 40km east of the town of Kirkland Lake and 20km east of Larder Lake in northern Ontario and about 5km west of the Quebec border and 40km from Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
The little town that was built by GOLD. Although the towns of Virginiatown and Kearns were built on gold, the gold to the local residents and Visitor alike is the Majestic Wildlife and scenic views of the surrounding area and remains Golden in the seasons of:

With an average winter snowfall of 9.2 ft. Virginiatown and Kearns is the Ultimate playground for winter activities. Imagine yourself riding on an well groomed "A" trail with all the scenery and Virgin Snow around. (while most communities restrict you to the snowmobile trail this is not a requirement in the Virginiatown and Kearns area.) If you Ski: Raven Ski Hill located 3 km from the town and it boasts the highest elevation in Northeastern Ontario.
