The Golden Beauty of Fall:

Imagine yourself driving or walking one of the numerous roads or trails with either camera or gun and being awed at the sites and sounds of nature from the surrounding area of Virginiatown / Kearns.

Northern Ontario in the fall has many picturesque and scenic views. The picture below taken by a local resident is of the road to McGarry Park, which is run by the local Lions Club in the Virginiatown / Kearns area of northeastern Ontario. The local area offers the visitor and resident many photo opportunities of the many scenic views and of the local wildlife. This area offers some excellent hunting for Black Bear in the spring and fall, Moose hunting, Ruffled Grouse and Rabbit just to name a few.

• Normally every couple of years the township declares Lake Front, waterfront and Wilderness properties up for owed back taxes. These properties provide excellent fishing opportunities and you can fish for walleye, bass, lake trout, perch, brook trout and northern pike. One of these properties on Larder Lake has ~1/2 mile of excellent shore line with large flat areas for at least five or six good sized cottage lots. Normally they only post these properties in the local newspaper for 30 days or so and in the past very few people knew that they were for sale/bid. We are unsure when the next properties will be up for sale/bid as they like to keep it quite. When more are available we will post them on the Real Estate site.
• The Wilderness properties comprise of a few acres to possibly 100's of acres by combining several adjoining properties. The area is an excellent area for partridge, rabbit, moose and black bear. Non-residents should note that the current hunting regulations for non-resident property owners allows you to hunt black bear on your property without having to use a guide or outfitter.
