The Bycks, ( Madeleine and Ted ), live in the town of Haileybury, Ontario, Canada. Haileybury is a community of some 5,000 situate on the west shore of Lake Temiskaming in Northern Ontario approximately 5 hours by road due north of Toronto. It is part of the area known as the Tri-Towns, that, along with the Towns of Cobalt and New Liskeard and the Townships of Dymond, Coleman, Harris and others have a combined population of about 18,000. As you can see from the maps below, it is at the north end of the lake. Lake Temiskaming forms the headwater of the Ottawa River.
