Novel Studies in the Classroom

In 1971,while attending a film convention, I was amazed by a fellow teacher who was in possession of new-fangled gadget called a pocket calculator. Now it's true that you needed quite a large pocket for it but it was small and it could perform 4 basic mathematical operations. I was quite astounded by this technological achievement.
A few years later the desktop computer appeared and I never looked back. The most recent stage has been the internet which has spawned a social as well as technical revolution. It has drawn us into a global community--a community which benefits all by the joys of sharing.

It wasn't long before I realized the connection between internet and teaching. While creating novel studies for my own school I could also share them with teachers around the world. The study guides that I have created are intended to lead the students through the novel. They include: The Hobbit, Holes, The Light in the Forest, Tuck Everlasting, The Whipping Boy, My Teacher is an Alien, Never Cry Wolf, The Door in the Wall, Moonfleet, Shane, Old Yeller, Banner in the Sky, Anne of Green Gables, Underground to Canada, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Call of the Wild, Cue for Treason, Silverwing, Bridge to Terabithia, Blood Red Ochre and many more.

I have included sections for vocabulary development and enrichment activities in these novel study guides as well as extensive reading comprehension exercises for each chapter with detailed answers.
